Club Treasurer Workshop: Conducting Your Investment Club’s Annual Audit

In this session of the BetterInvesting Club Treasurer Workshop, myICLUB.com’s Doug Gerlach, Sean Pulrang, and Russell Malley will discuss one of the essential tasks that investment clubs should undertake each year; an audit of the club's books. But there's no need to hire an external auditor! Instead, the club should convene an Audit Committee that will review the club's transactions for the full year, making sure that the data entered in myICLUB matches the brokerage and bank statements. The Audit Committee can also make recommendations about procedures to improve and streamline the club's accounting and operations.

In this session, myICLUB's Doug Gerlach will present the Club Audit Checklist, outlining how club members can conduct an audit, what financial statements and myICLUB reports are required, and key issues the Audit Committee should watch for. Completing the audit successfully will help ensure accurate tax returns, so don’t overlook this important practice!
