Rendon, Schechter Join NAIC/BetterInvesting Board of Directors

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., June 26, 2009 — The NAIC/BetterInvesting board of directors is pleased to announce that Shanna Rendon and Stuart Schechter have been elected to the BetterInvesting board.
Shanna brings a variety of experience as a BetterInvesting volunteer to the board with an emphasis on the association’s Internet activities, most recently as the vice president of technology for the BetterInvesting Volunteer Advisory Board. Soon after joining the organization in 1999, she became a founding director of the Western Slope Chapter. In 2001 Shanna became a volunteer for NAIC’s Online Investor’s School, and in 2005-06 she was a director of the Computer Group Advisory Board. She also has served as a beta tester for several ICLUBcentral stock study programs. In 2007 Shanna received the Kenfield-Burris Online Service Award. A resident of Grand Junction, Colo., Shanna is a retired cytotechnologist.
Stuart also brings a wealth of computer- and Internet-related expertise to the board. He served as president and chief architect of ICLUBcentral from 2000 to 2002 and as a director until 2005. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard in 2004; in that year he founded MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s research program in information security economics. He has since joined Microsoft Research, where he’s focusing on projects related to backup authentication and permissioning.
