Madison Heights, Mich., June 18, 2007 — BetterInvesting, a national, nonprofit association with a mission of creating a nation of educated investors, will feature several high-level speakers at its annual national convention in Dallas, June 21-24.
Executive vice president and chief marketing officer of NASDAQ, John L. Jacobs, will conduct a seminar, “Why Indexing Matters,” Thursday, June 21, at 1 p.m. Jacobs is responsible for all aspects of NASDAQ’s financial products business strategy, including the development of new products and product licensing, both in the United States and abroad.
USA TODAY reporter, Matt Krantz, will conduct a seminar, “Love it or Leave it: Four Steps to Finding Out if a Stock is for You,” on Friday, June 22, at 4 p.m. Krantz is the stock market and IPO reporter, with a specialty in tech stocks. Before joining USA TODAY, he wrote about technology for Investor’s Business Daily.
Jack McCreery, senior counsel in the Office of Investor Education and Assistance for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will conduct a seminar, “Recognizing and Avoiding Fraud,” free to the public on Saturday, June 23, at 2:05 p.m. Before his current position, McCreery worked at the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance.
Daniel S. Frishberg, known as “The Money Man,” will conduct a seminar, “Current Market Opportunities and Putting Them to Work,” free to the public on Saturday, June 23, at 2:55 p.m. Frishberg is a nationally known radio and television personality and the founder BizRadio Network, which features business oriented programming.
In addition to timely speakers and informative seminars, the convention features an Investors Expo that welcomes all investors and is free and open to the public on June 23 from noon to 5:30 p.m. The Expo features representatives from more than 40 publicly traded companies who will be on hand to answer questions about business practices and plans, and investment programs.
