BetterInvesting Names New CEO

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., January 6, 2009 -  BetterInvesting today named as its Chief Executive Officer, Kathleen Zaracki.   Zaracki, who has held leadership positions at AT&T Corporation, also has experience running organizations in a competitive and dynamic environment.  She compiled a track record for improving both performance and customer service. Currently she is a Director for The Conference Board working with senior executives of Fortune 1000 firms.

“Kamie Zaracki brings proven leadership skills from the private sector as well as a commitment to serve our members,” said Roger H. Ganser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BetterInvesting.  “With a commitment to our investor education mission, Kamie will ensure excellence in all areas of our organization and help it grow to meet the needs of the 21st Century investor.  On behalf of the Board of Directors, we welcome Kamie to NAIC-BetterInvesting.”

“I am honored to be asked to serve BetterInvesting in this leadership capacity,” said Zaracki.  “Investor education is more important than ever.  These challenging economic times reaffirm our dedication to building a nation of successful investors.”

Zaracki spent 26 years at AT&T, beginning in sales and progressing to increasingly responsible and complex positions in marketing, product management and new technology development. She worked in both the domestic and global arenas. Most recently she was responsible for marketing activities that supported  AT&T’s local voice and data services. These efforts to redefine and differentiate the customer experience resulted in improved customer satisfaction. The product received the JD Powers Award for Best Business Local Voice in 2003. She was also responsible for deploying AT&T’s nationwide DSL infrastructure.

Since 2006, Zaracki has expanded the relationship with Fortune 1000 Conference Board member firms.  During this time she secured major funding to launch the Center for Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability.  She also cultivated member participation in a research project with the World Bank.  She will start at BetterInvesting on February 1st.

Zaracki is a past president of the Board of Trustees for the Montclair (NJ) Historical Society and has served as a Trustee of the Montclair Shared Housing Association.  She received her BBA in marketing and economics from the University of Michigan and her MBA in international marketing from Boston University.
