
On December 29, 2006, members of BetterInvesting's National Investors Association (NIA) Advisory Board visited the New York Stock Exchange. Larry Reno, chairman of the NIA Advisory Board, rang the day's Closing Bell for the final trading day of 2006. In addition to NIA representatives, Sue Peterman, manager of BetterInvesting's chapter relations department, participated in the ceremony.
Volunteer representatives from BetterInvesting also rang The Closing Bell on January 3, 2006 – the first day of trading for 2006.
The NIA Advisory Board is the volunteer advisory group for BetterInvesting. It is responsible for the training and support of chapter directors, for organizing the annual BetterInvesting National Convention and for providing educational services for BetterInvesting's members. The board oversees BetterInvesting's 94 regional chapters.
Members of the NIA Advisory Board are among BetterInvesting's most dedicated volunteers – all committed to BetterInvesting's mission to create a nation of educated investors.
